Metamaterials, artificial electromagnetic media that are structured on the subwavelength scale, were initially suggested for the negative-index media, and later became a paradigm for engineer-ing electromagnetic space and control¬ling propagation of waves. This talk will summarize the recent research on electromagnetic and optical metamaterials and metadevices including met-amaterials with hyperbolic dispersion, all-dielectric nanophotonics, and recently emerged field of flat optics and metasurfaces.
