Dr. Jang received his Ph.D. in Physics from the Korea University. Dr. Jang was a postdoctoral researcher in Dept. of Chemistry at Northwestern University. From 2008 to 2011, he was an Application Scientist at Nanoink, Inc. (Skokie, Illinois, U.S.A.). Then he joined in department of physics in Pukyong national university as an assistant professor in 2011, and he is promoted as an associate professor since 2015. Now, he is the chair of the department.
Dr. Jang has published more than 63 research papers in the area of solid state physics, materials, and nanotechnology, including high ranked research journals: ACS Nano, Nano Letters, Advanced Functional Materials, etc. His research has focused on light-matter interactive phenomena using nanofabrication/characterization tools and development of advanced functional device including plasmonic sensor and nanomaterial FET.
Dr. Jang’s lab has carried out lots of collaboration works with researchers in the world. For examples, he is a recipient of the Korea-Japan (NRF-JSPS) basic scientific research program 2013-2015, Korea-USA (NRF-AOARD) nanoscience joint research grant 2013-2017, and Eu-Korea exchange scholar program (NRF)2016.
