Young scientists, including PhD candidates and those who has just acquired their PhD, have relatively fewer chances to give full presentations of their works and for intensive discussions with people outside of their own groups. This series of seminars is a result of the efforts to improve the situation. A speaker invited to the Seminars is supposed to come an hour or so before his/her seminar and have discussions with the students. The seminar should be formal (if not completely), as much as at a workshop or conference. After the seminar, we usually have a dinner together with the speaker and the students in the audience.
