Dr. Joonyeon Chang is a Senior Researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST).

He studied at Yonsei University and received from it his PhD in Materials Engineering in 1998.
 
He studied at Yonsei University and, from there, received his PhD in Materials Engineering in 1998. He did his postdoctoral fellowship at the UCLA from 2000 to 2002 and then joined KIST. He directed the KIST Spintronics Research Team from 2005 to 2010, KIST-MIT Lab from 2008 to 2011, and the KIST Center for Spin Interdisciplinary Research from 2011 to 2014. He is taking the Directorship of the Institute of Next Generation Semiconductors of KIST since 2015.
