Bound states in the continuum (BICs) can confine photonic excitations in open systems without relying on conventional cavities or photonic band gaps, making them promising for long-lived quantum storage and few-photon control. In this talk, I will present our recent work on single- and two-photon BICs. For single-photon BICs, we develop a capture–reshape–release protocol based on temporal control of a giant atom coupled to a waveguide. For two-photon states, we establish a no-go theorem for interaction-active BICs supported by a single emitter. We then investigate two-photon quasi-BICs in giant-atom systems and determine how their decay rates scale with the system parameters.
