Dr. Lee, Sangyun (KIST)

Sang-Yun Lee is a senior researcher at Korea Institute of Science and Technology (KIST). He received his Bachelor and Master degree in Physics from Korea University in 1999 and 2001, respectively, and PhD in Physics from the University of Utah in USA at 2011. During his MS, he joined Prof. Joo’s group where he studied physical properties of conducting polymer by investigating charge transport and electron spin resonance. For his PhD, he continued studying electron spin resonance on various defect states in polymer and silicon in Prof. Boehme’s group. After his PhD, he joined Prof. Wrachtrup’s group in University of Stuttgart in Germany in 2011 as a postdoctoral researcher. In Stuttgart, he investigated spin qubits based on defects in diamond and silicon carbide. In 2016, he started working as a senior researcher at the Center for Quantum Information in KIST. Currently, he focuses on developing integrated quantum computing devices using the defect based qubits in diamond.
